FLSA at the Conference

The Administrator of the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division, Dr. David Weil, will join the Super Session panel discussion on FLSA overtime Tuesday, September 27 at the CUPA-HR Annual Conference and Expo 2016 in Washington, D.C.

“We know that implementing the new FLSA regulations presents one of the most significant challenges that higher ed HR professionals have ever encountered,” said Andy Brantley, president and chief executive officer at CUPA-HR. “Adding to the challenge is the complexity of our higher ed organizations. We are so pleased that Dr. Weil will join us as part of our Super Session FLSA panel. This will give us the opportunity to interact and engage with Dr. Weil during a critically important time as we prepare for the December 1 implementation deadline.”

You can also register for and attend an FLSA overtime preconference workshop to better understand the implications of the new rule and get in-depth on what your peers in higher ed are doing to prepare by the looming December 1 deadline. Choose from two available times to join to find out what challenges your institution will likely face to reach compliance by that date. Dive into discussion on positions unique to higher ed including student life, athletics, research and others. You’ll also learn about compliance and communication strategies that are being implemented at campuses nationwide.

And don’t forget to check out the concurrent sessions How Public Policy Impacts Higher Education (during session 4) and Extraordinary FLSA Changes in Higher Ed (during session 6).
