Attendee FAQs
If my institution sends more than one attendee to the conference, is there a registration discount?
Yes – although the discount this year will not be available until late June. Here’s how it works: When one person from a member institution purchases a full registration to the conference, any other individuals from that institution who register by the Early Registration deadline (July 24) will receive a discounted rate as outlined on the registration page. The discount is only available to CUPA-HR members and does not apply to one-day registrations.
Is the conference at the hotel?
Keynotes, sessions and the Expo are all held in the meeting space at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. Our closing excursion will be held at Epcot and requires attendees to RSVP during the registration process.
Will transportation to and from the airport be provided?
You have several options for transportation to and from Orlando International Airport (MCO). Please see the Hotel and Travel Information page for details.
Should I budget meals outside of what the conference offers?
That depends on your dietary needs. Full conference registration fees include the following:
Opening Reception — Various heavy appetizers along with beverages
Two Continental Breakfasts
Two Lunches
Breaks — Beverages
Monday Helping Hour in the Expo and Tuesday Closing Reception — Light appetizers to accompany beverages
One-day registration fees do not include all the above items, but do include the meals and breaks at the conference on the day of your registration.
Can I bring a guest?
Yes. Guest pricing information is available in the registration section of our website, and you’ll have the option to add a guest registration when you register for the conference. Contact [email protected] with questions.
Will I get HRCI or SHRM credits for attending, and how do I get the credits?
The conference has been approved for 8.5 HRCI and 8.5 SHRM continuing education credits. The recertification form will be available on the conference app on Tuesday, October 1, and will be included in the post-conference evaluation email.
As an international attendee, how do I obtain a visa?
Most conference attendees traveling to the United States will need to obtain a B-1 visa. For additional information, visit the U.S. Department of State website. Some international attendees may be required to provide a letter to obtain a travel visa. Contact [email protected] to obtain a letter.
As a conference attendee, do I get a special rate for tickets to Disney World parks while I’m there?
Yes. The confirmation email you receive after you register will include a link for reserving your hotel and for purchasing park tickets at the conference attendee rate. The attendee rate is a fixed rate and does not change based on the day of the week you visit the parks.
Will I receive handouts for sessions I attend?
If speakers have provided session materials, they will be available for attendees to download from the conference app.
Will I have access to the internet while I’m at the conference?
There will be free, high-speed internet access in guest rooms and throughout the resort hotel and meeting space.
What is the dress/attire at the conference and special events?
Conference dress is business casual. Pack a light sweater or jacket; hotel meeting rooms tend to be chilly. Workout clothes are recommended for the Healthy Campus Workouts.
Will I have time to go to my room between conference events?
Depending on the location of your guest room, you may have time to visit your room in between conference events.
What can I expect from service providers in the Expo?
