How do I access session materials?

Session materials will be available for download on the conference app about a week before the conference begins.

Will I have access to the internet while I’m at the conference?

Yes! Stay connected to your office and home by taking advantage of complimentary Wi-Fi in the conference area.

What can I expect from service providers in the Expo?

CUPA-HR’s Expo is filled with companies that offer solutions, products and services for higher ed institutions. You’ll have the opportunity to meet professionals who are easily approachable and can provide information about products and services for tackling a variety of workforce challenges.

What meals are included with conference registration?

Full conference registration fees include the following:

Opening Reception with beverages and heavy appetizers
Two continental breakfasts
Two lunches
Breaks with beverages
Monday Evening Reception with beverages and heavy appetizers

One-day registration fees do not include all the above items, but do include the meals and breaks at the conference on the day of your registration.

How do I get to/from the airport?

Directions from the airport to the conference hotel are provided in the Hotel and Travel Information section of our website.

What is the dress/attire at the conference and special events?

Conference dress is business casual. Pack a light sweater or jacket; hotel meeting rooms tend to be chilly. 

Will I have time to go to my room between conference events?

Depending on the location of your guest room, you should have time to visit your room in between conference events. Please refer to the Schedule for more information.

Can I bring a guest?

Yes. Guest pricing information is available in the Registration section of our website. Contact [email protected] to add a guest registration.

Is the conference at the hotel?

The conference events will be held at Hilton Minneapolis

Has the conference been pre-approved for HRCI or SHRM recertification credits?

The spring conference programming has been pre-approved for 8 HRCI and SHRM recertification credits. The link to the recertification form will be included in the post-conference evaluation email. 

I’ve been invited to an event hosted by a conference exhibitor or sponsor. Do I need to report this to CUPA-HR or my institution?

Before you accept an invitation, review any applicable institutional or other guidelines regarding gifts received from vendors. If you have questions about the value of a meal or gratuity, please contact the exhibitor/sponsor. If you choose to participate in a corporate partner-sponsored event that does not comply with institutional guidelines, you may be required to take steps to remedy the situation. Exhibitor giveaways and drawings are permitted at the CUPA-HR Spring Conference. Giveaway and drawing prizes must be limited to a market value of $150 or less.

As an international attendee, how do I obtain a visa?

Most conference attendees traveling to the United States will need to obtain a B-1 visa. For additional information, visit the U.S. Department of State website. Some international attendees may be required to provide a letter to obtain a travel visa. Contact [email protected] to obtain a letter.
