WHAT DOES A LEADER LOOK LIKE?

Female higher education leaders seem to be under increasing scrutiny lately, and many high-profile women have decided to leave their highly visible roles. What is happening? Are women unprepared to withstand the pressures that come with executive academic roles, or are colleges and universities unprepared to accept a new profile of leadership? This session will explore these questions and offer guidance about how to recognize and mitigate the bias that narrows the pipeline to higher ed leadership; dispel myths of conventional leadership and support more unconventional approaches; and build the more diverse leadership pipelines that have been demonstrated to improve the health of an organization.
